Technically speaking, the stadium we are referring to right now is not officially known as Bird's Nest Stadium. Instead, it's known as the Beijing National Stadium. But it's just about anyone who goes there or who has seen it throughout many trips, they all referred by its nickname as Nest Stadium. The way the building is constructed with the entertaining pieces and beams in search looks like how a bird constructs a nest with twigs and branches.

The only difference here is that Bird's Nest Stadium is made of 42000 tons of steel, which made it the biggest steel building ever when it was opened in 2008.

But why use that much steel

Well that simple, the Chinese wanted the building to last and with its materials barring a disaster imposing upon it. The building could easily last over a hundred years which is good for the Chinese. The stadium can hold 91,100 people which in turn can make them a lot of money if they can sell out the venue on the regular.

To also help ensure that the stadium lasts against mother nature, they made a new kind of steel called Q35 which can withstand earthquakes as well as endure flux weathering temperatures, that Beijing China is known to have you around.

Quite amazing that football stadiums can be this beautiful. Well, it's just a tip of an iceberg, there are still many other beautiful stadiums that exist in the world.
