WHAT CHANGES CAN WE EXPECT FOR PORSCHE MODEL YEAR 2022 – CHECK OUT THE DIFFERENCE

Welcome back to another Porsche car.

Whisper article I'm doing, yet another model year 2022 change for you. But this time it's going to be on the Taycon.

Now there are not quite as many changes for the upcoming year as there were for the model year 2021 when it came out. But there's a lot of exciting changes that can we can expect for this upcoming year. So let's go ahead and get into it.

OK, so for those of you who have seen our articles on cars reviews in the past, especially, Worlds class trendy cars, what we occasionally include is something I call "point of sale" which means when can expect these 2022 Taycons to be arriving here at our local Porsche stores. Well, that's set for sometime in November 2021, last year, with the cards going into production, in which production began in September of 2021.

When was the company able to build these brands –new Taycons in the configurator?

Well, that's happened in just about a month, sometimes about mid-July; they were able to start building these brand–new 2022 Taycons.

Let's talk about Pricing:

Pricing hasn't increased except for two models, which got $2800 increased and that is for the standard Taycon as well as the Taycon 4 across Therese. So when you're configuring those within the next month, you'll notice that those prices have increased, all of the models are still the same price as they were for the model year 2021.

Also, let's go ahead and go over, what are some of the standard equipment changes that we're going to find here on the model year 2022, are going to be?

Features: The model year 2022

One of those, we have optimized axle decoupling in normal as well as the range models.

I'm not going to talk about that too much today as I said earlier that the article is a whisper article –No paying attention to details.

We also have the new sports Chrono display; I don't know exactly what it's going to look like yet, on the Instrument Cluster, you'll be able to see a little bit of a different display for the sports Chrono, and then we have the clock auto regeneration. Pressing on the steering wheel, it's activated. The regen level will not be deactivated when you're changing your driving modes. So in the past one, you could press and hold that button for auto regen to be on, then that auto regen may switch depending on which driving mode you have switched into. That is no longer for the model year 2022. We have the smartphone compartment with wireless charging, which is not losing its cellular signal amplifier. So small change Just been the lookout for that. Then we have the central locking memory module, and the window button panels are in Matt Black as opposed to high gloss black that we have seen here for model 2022 as well well 2021. And we have some changes that are happening to the PCM, so let's go and hop into the inside and go over some of those changes that we're going to find for the upcoming Taycon.

So here on the inside, we're going to see some changes that are happening here to the PCM. One of the biggest ones we're finding here from audio 2022 is now going to have here in the center console, wired Android auto. I know a lot of you guys are very excited that you have Android phones –this is kind of coming to the entire Porsche line that now, we're going to use Android auto and then, of course, that wireless Apple Carplay that we've had, here for just a little bit of time ever since the update as well as the model year 2021 have coming out.

We have an updated user interface with easier navigation and a little bit cleaner look and feel. The user interface is going to change just slightly. Detail of the functionality is still worked on and will be communicated later.

Then we've got on the home screen display, 5 menu jumps, of course, we'll now be able to have 5 menu jumps instead of 3, abs this can be arranged freely by just pressing and moving them around as we've had in the previous. So, we'll be able to have 5 as opposed to those 3 that we've had up until now. We also have some updates to the Porsche connect which I know a lot of lovers want some of those updates because we've been having some issues with Porsche connect, to say the least, and that is going to be the optimization to the Porsche charging planner. So not necessarily any software updates to the Porsche connect server, but the charging planner, if you have that on your Taycon you'll notice that there's going to be some updates to that functionality.

Now, when we are coming to some of these optional packages you can add to the car, we have some changes as well. So, the power-folding exterior mirrors are now a forced option with the surrounding view, so as you're now optioning your car with the power-folding mirrors, it's going to force you to get the surrounding view.

You know, for the previous model, the familiar 2021 had this 19.2 kilowatts AC onboard charger. So you coil charge your Taycon a little bit quicker when you're at home. But it ended up getting about discontinued shortly after the model year 2021 had come out. So now, this is going to be an option that you'll be able to add and it will double the charging speed of that standard –9.6 kilowatt charging speed that, we have up until now. And in the past, for the model year 2021, if you did happen to fry the 19.2-kilowatt charger, you would not be able to use something that is called plug-in charge But for the model 2022, we'll now be able to have that 19.2 AC onboard charger functionality when you're at those DC charging stations such as Electrify America in the United States, and your local power stations, and just a quick fact, that is now turned on for most of the Electrify  America charging station.

So if you have the model year 2021 or newer, it will, except, if you have s model year 2021and you have that 19.2 kilowatts onboard AC charger, it will not work but that has now changed for the upcoming year.

And we also have some changes and additions to something called Remote park assist. This is also found in the 911 2022 changes as well as Cayenne 2022 changes.
The Remote Control parking could be activated via your smartphone when you're outside of the vehicle so you can pull your Taycon into a parking spot or out of a parking spot without even brig being inside of it. That is cool.

There is also the 3D surround view with improved panning functions same thing we saw on the 2022 Cayenne review. There's the rear cross-traffic approach vehicle from sides while backing up. So if there's a car that's coming from the side while you're backing up, there's going to be a rear cross-traffic alert. There's an exit warning which warns of traffic approaching vehicles from the rear while you're opening the door, there'll be a warning that will go off, and then a moving assists aids in complex backing up situations. Again something for the Cayenne is now coming also to the Taycon for the model year 2022.

This is a small change with aluminum pedals, and the footrest is now in a new sporty design anodized and nano-coated in a driver's side footwell wherein the former model, we've had plastic but they've also updated these aluminum pedals here for the Taycon.

And some decent changes here inside the B-pillars is now, this is going to be In Race-Tex or formerly known as Alcantara. These B-pillars are now going to be in the Race-Tex here for the model year 2022.

Probably the biggest changes we're going to find for the next upcoming year are the colors. You're finally going to be able to get what we call custom color is formerly known as paint to sample, which is now coming for the Taycon.

Finally, I know, I'm sure that some of you want to, perhaps, make your Taycon an old school color, or personalize it a little bit further than maybe, you have here in the past. Well, rest assured, in the model year 2022, you will now be able to get it in pretty much any color you want. So, that pretty much wraps up the model 2022 Taycon changed video you do see on YouTube.
