Detrimental Effects of Fast Food to Health

Eating food like fast food especially on the roadside is not a character for certain people. However, it is a behavior that almost everybody has adopted giving reasons like cost affordability, timesaving, and much more reasons.

Most of the busiest streets are filled up with roadside food makers ready to deliver to people. The risk of taking too much cooking oil triggered me to make a discussion. You will find out what will happen to you when you eat this kind of food.

A 5-day project was undertaken and proven by Travis Stork, M.D Er Physician.

A quick overview about Dr. Stork — Dr. Travis Stork is an emergency medicine physician in Nashville, Tennessee, precisely. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 15years. His field of specialty is Emergency medicine diagnosis and treating patients with life-threatening conditions like heart attack, drug overdose, shock, or massive bleeding.

From his research,  he gained eight pounds weight in 5 days while feeding on chunk foods only. He felt miserable and put his body in jeopardy. I can assure you it wasn't worth it. In 5 days you can become hypertensive; you can develop high blood pressure. You don't have to  know what is going on in your body. You know what? He was never going to do it again. Why did he do it? — to prove a point.

When you eat these foods, they cause an addictive pattern in your mind. But in the end, all you end up with are OVERWEIGHT, LETHARGIC, and not feeling good about yourself. These are what you're doing to yourself.

So what happens when you eat fast food or fast meal?

Well, something very simple, the contents enter your stomach, and I'm gonna identify these contents that he calls some of the killer content of food. (They are encircled below)

Sodium — these are fat molecules. And these are refined sugar molecules. No big deal right? Well, it's a big deal because when they may hit your stomach something starts happening. Believe it or not — Dopamine is released in your brain, because Dopamine and Serotonin are going wild, and you think you feel good, "OMG! it tastes wonderful". It does right for a few minutes. But things are also going on inside your body that aren't so great.

Here is it —your pancreas is secreting more and more insulin to deal with that massive sugar overload from the fries, white bun, soda, Doughnuts, Burrito Supreme, White Castle sliders, chicken/Beef sandwich, pizzas, butter Burger, Biscuits, Baked Cakes, Baked Apple pie, amongst others.

Insulin does one thing — it drives sugar into cells. But it does something else: it tells your body to store fat. Why else would you have eaten a meal that big and that many calories unless you're about to go into hibernation?

And This is what you're doing when you hibernate — you grow BIG BELLY! Exactly.

When looking at your belly and feeling it, that fat that you see there, those fat cells are growing in size. They start to secrete even more toxic substances leading to heart disease like Diabetes, and so many other things. All the sodium causes your blood pressure to go up. So your heart's beating twice as fast against twice as much resistance.

And in your brain, you're no longer releasing Dopamine but instead, your brain is signaling you to release Cortisol.

Cortisol is a chronic stress hormone that ironically tells you to store even more fat

And lastly but certainly not the least, what isn't going on in your brain at that moment you're 30 minutes after your meal, there's no more Dopamine. I mean, you're Lethargic, you feel good about yourself. That's why when you've first eaten you feel great and 30 minutes later, you feel terrible. Oh yeah.

We're missing out on the essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber that fruits and vegetables provide.

According to Seung Hee Lee Kwan, Ph.D., of CDC’s Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity, lead author of the study very few Americans eat the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables every day, putting them at risk for chronic diseases like diabetes and heart diseases.

After everything you have read today, would you be willing to try to make some changes?
