OMG! Akuapem Poloo jailed: Ghana court sentence Rosemond Brown to 90 days in jail


The Court in the  judgment argued that the reason for the punitive sentence was to use the case to serve as deterrent to the general public.

The court also revealed that the pregnancy test of the accused was negative.

Around July last year, she had gone against the law when she posted a nude photo of herself with her son online as part of her son's seventh birthday.

She pleaded guilty to three charges where the court leveled against her which include:

-The publication of obscene material;

-Engaging in domestic violence in ways which undermines the privacy and integrity of another person; and

-Finally engaging in domestic violence which can tarnish the  dignity of another human being.

On Wednesday, the Accra Circuit court convicted her for publishing nude photos of herself and son.

The judge in her ruling explained that she will serve 90 days in jail concurrently, this concerted into three months jail term.

The accused Akuapem Poloo broke down into tears after the sentencing.




Lawyers of Akuapem Poloo have indicated that they will serve notice of appeal against the jail term which the judge give Akuapem Poloo.

One of her lawyers, Andrew Vortia   also argued that the actress is not  a habitual offender as she has shown remorse, while removing the post, and she is not indecent lady.

Moments after Akuapem Poloo arrest, the news went far-flung and number trend in Ghana and on social media especially Twitter.

Ghanaians praise and condemn the decision of the Accra Circuit Court to sentence her to 90 days imprisonment.
