Luck ran out of him when he chatted a pretty damsel from far away Abia State on a social media platform and lured him to a popular hotel ( name withheld for security reasons ) in Eket where he lodged throughout last Tuesday night and forcefully had a raw carnal knowledge of her without using condom.
His usual stock in trade, is to pretend that he is waiting for his driver to come to the scheduled venue with the necessary documents for the job, before bringing out a dagger in the thick of the night and threatened his victim for bouts of sex.
According to the suspect, when he chats up his unsuspecting victim, from the fine pictures seen, he will then ask them the kind of phones they used and they will ignorantly mention the type and by so doing, gave themselves away.
Investigation reveals that the phones that entice him are gadgets worth from one hundred thousand naira and above . One Abasifreke, who works at Eket Computer Plaza, along Independence Avenue, that lives in Idua is said to be one of his accomplices .
He is the one who unlocks the stolen phones and resets it for sale to unsuspecting customers. One of the recovered stolen Samsung Galaxy phone, bought for one hundred and six thousand naira was sold for only twenty five thousand naira.
Our advice to the powers that be is to beam the searchlight on the nefarious activities of these yahoo boys, who are giving Eket a bad image so as to nip their dubious activities in the bud.
The suspect has been handed over to the law enforcement agents and is presently cooling it heels at the Uqua Police Division for further investigation and interrogation.
