Losing someone, particularly a closed person could be indeed painful and devastating. Such a pathetic moment that a great number of us could relate to the traumatic experience. In fact the sorrow we feel when we lose a loved one is the price we pay to have had them in our lives.
The story, though full details of the woman and her daughter, as well as the state the accident scene took place, is yet to be identified. However, it took place in a prominent family; in one of the Northern states in Nigeria. Yet it's an inciting pity scene that no one would ever pray for. The accident scene was a live record by a CCTV camera just placed to view the entrance gate.
There on the footage, a woman was picked by the camera while she hurried to open a massive slide metal gate of the entryway for a car that got stuck by the gate while entering the premises (I guess that was the husband). Unknown to her, and quite unfortunately, the massive gate detached from the fixed point and fell on her and her three-year-old daughter. It could only be a miracle if they all survived the accident, even with injuries. Otherwise, that would be the end. But at the same time, I prefer to be optimistic.
At this juncture permit me to say that gate and their associated operation have the potential to become deadly especially when there is a fault.
I was asked to analyze the case of the accident and I suggested firstly, the car's passage was obstructed by the gate because the gate was improperly installed. And secondly, the damage created by outside forces such as vehicular impacts, or adverse weather conditions that results in rusting are the two major factors that initiated the accident. Others are due to improper maintenance of the sliding devices. Many are directly related to unprofessional service providers failing to understand the required equipment problem associated with the cause of a claim. While other claims have proven to be the fault of the victim since they overlooked and neglected safety measures such as calling for a service provider. This is equally from my point of view that is certainly unbiased. What is yours?

And finally, ensure to fix up a piece of damaged equipment or totally discard them as they could post a hazard to life and in most cases, death. Remember safety must be ensured at home and on-site. Stay safe.
Chai! May there souls rest in peace
